Just recently, Microsoft has updated its Xbox Live online entertainment service with which all the subscribers will be able to watch mainstream television programming from the Xbox 360 console itself.
The Icing on the Cake
The icing on the cake is; the new update gives you the power to search for your favorite shows using hand gestures as well as voice commands if you have the Kinect peripheral for the Xbox. Interestingly, Microsoft will be adding a lot more to this service including Verizon FiOS, HBO, and Comcast’s Xfinity. It is important to note that the subscribers will have to pay their cable providers to get channels though the Xbox and along with that; they will be required to pay $60 a year which is the amount set by Microsoft for a premier membership.
Pros and Cons
Like everything in this world has its own share of pros as well as cons, likewise; the Xbox Console gadget cannot give the viewers all that they get through their cable boxes because content rights for some shows have to be negotiated before they can be streamed to the Xbox console.
