Nokia N9 Swipe- Get Trendy

On September, 2011, Nokia launched its much awaited N9 Smartphone gadget which has a Meego Operating System. Moving from the traditional Symbian OS, Nokia’s new smartphone comes with no buttons. The company is all set to provide tough competition to other smartphone manufacturers by introducing N9 which has host of other functionalities apart from being stylish and fashionable.

Swipe Functionality

The most important feature in the phone is the swipe function. To return to the home page of the phone, the user is just required to swipe from the edge of the screen. This means, swiping at the edge takes the user home. Along with the renovated home key, Nokia N9 comes with 3.9 inch AMOLED screen which has a scratch resistant curved glass. The screen is big enough to enable the user to watch videos in 16:9 widescreen formats.

Other Nice Features

Near Field Communication (NFC), the latest in wireless technology helps the Nokia N9 users to share images and videos easily. The device can also be paired with Bluetooth speakers. Among other specifications, there is the 8 MP Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus sensor with wide angle lens. The High Definition video capture and large lens aperture enable the optimum capture of precious moments. With a sleek design and good hardware, the phone is available in three exciting colors – black, magenta and cyan.

Intel Core i7- A lot many Features to be Explored

Earlier this week, Intel unveiled its new processor Core i7 3960X and there is a lot to talk about this processor.

Details

It has been designed in a way to replace the vulnerable LGA 1366(Socket B). It has about 645 pins and it supports four channels of DD3 memory at speeds up to 1600 MHz. There is a Socket R which makes the processor so unique as it controls DMI along with the rest functions. Another important aspect is it facilitates Intel’s QPI that is solely accountable for traffic between two CPUs as well as CPU and chipset. The 3960X supports 10 SATA channels which is truly amazing along with PCIe 2.0 for graphics processing as well as PCIe 3.0 for storage purposes.

Compatibility

Intel’s latest thermal solution, the RTS2011LC works pretty well with LGA-1155, LAG-1156 and LGA-1366. One thing that testers really liked about Intel DX79SI motherboard is the design which does not require access to the underside when the cooling unit needs to be installed or replaced. The icing on the cake is, there is a switch called “boot-to-BIOS” on the rear panel on gadgets which automatically glows red when depressed which is a kind of indication to the system that it will automatically enter the BIOS on boot.

China creates supercomputer with its own microprocessor

Previously, China stunned the world when it announced Tianhe-1A, the world fastest supercomputer which beat the US ‘Jaguar’ supercomputer by almost a mighty 0.8 petaflops or 800 trillion floating point calculations per second. Now, the communist country announced a new supercomputer which didn’t beat the Tianhe-1A but is nonetheless significant. This new supercomputer is called Sunway BlueLight MPP supercomputer.

What is interesting about Sunway is that none of the microprocessor in it is done by major companies such as Intel or AMD but rather its own microprocessors developed by the Chinese themselves. To compare, the Tianhe-1A uses a combination of Intel Xeon CPU and NVIDIA GPU. With this, it means that the Chinese are one step closer to compete with major markets and potentially be a competitor to the giants Intel and AMD.

The rate on which China is catching up technologically is alarmingly fast. It took 20 years for the microprocessors in the US to be what they are today but experts predict that the same will not be said with China. The microprocessors will be available not only for supercomputers but also for normal usage such as on a desktop or laptop. Should it be available en masse, expect a lot of computers to run on these microprocessors as well. Source : http://www.newgadget.org

Sony is planning to make its platform available on other non-Sony devices, Sony Computer Entertainment Chairman Kaz Hirai said.
Present Scenario
At this point of time, the platform is only available to Sony Ericsson Xperia play, Sony Tablet P and Sony Tablet S. In an interview with Hirai, it was confirmed that Sony was discussing with non-Sony companies so as to bring them onboard. Earlier in September, Sony claimed that it would soon be releasing an SDK for the PlayStation Suits which would help all game developers in creating a game that would run on all PS Certified devices. This covers PS Vita, Sony Ericsson Android smartphones, PS3 game console as well as Sony Android tablets. Unfortunately, the SDK would not be available in the markets until November.

What’s Expected
Also, Hirai said that the motive of PlayStation Suite platform is not to make it to limited to the Sony family, instead make it available to other platforms as well. Though Sony has declared this big thing but it is not yet certain as when it would be released since company’s own next-gen portable gaming gadget, the PS Vita, is not yet set to be launched.
