Microsoft updates Xbox 360 Dashboard, incorporates Metro UI design

Metro UI which is now available on Windows Phone 7 and in the developer release of Windows 8 is Microsoft newest approach of marketing its products. The Metro UI can be considered clean and in most cases, easy to use. In fact, Microsoft seems to be very happy with the Metro UI that it is adding it to its other successful product, the Xbox 360.

As expected, the UI on the new Xbox 360 dashboard is based on tiles as well as the menu available at the top of the screen. Suffice to say it is a very clean interface that looks futuristic as one might say. Users will also notice that the dashboard is a tad faster as compared as the old one and getting from one section to the other is a breeze as well.

In addition to that, the new dashboard also incorporates Kinect which is its sound and motion detector add-on. Users can use hand gestures to change pages or if that is too troublesome, they can also command the Xbox to do it as well. It is definitely a great improvement over the old Kinect hub.

The new dashboard is due to be released tomorrow (6 December 2011) and is definitely a must have for all Xbox 360 users.
